Top Chef
Last week I wrote about Breaking Bad a television show on the AMC network and how they use Social Media. Top Chef (http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef) is a cooking competition show on Bravo TV. I personally enjoy the show because I enjoy food. The show is a reality show with chefs competing to become the next big name in the food world. The winners and some of the finalists appear on other Bravo sponsored events, maybe a profile in Food and Wine Magazine, win tons of cash and maybe even a car throughout the competition. Bravo Tv has done an excellent job of not only keeping its viewers but adding new ones each season. They use social media to vote for the fan favorite at the end of the season reunion episode. Every season show participants blog about their experiences. The participants have short episodes demonstrating a how to make one of their creations. From Twitter to Facebook to Pinterest to Youtube to blogging Bravo Tv has incorporated almost every type of Social Media within this show and every show they air on the network.

Breaking Bad (Current Event)
Breaking Bad was an excellent series on the AMC television network. The network hyped up the final season of the show and especially the series finale of the show. They created a Facebook page for the show, a Twitter account, published viedo clips of the series as well as a live talk show following airings of each episode. They also had a website that you could log onto and participate on while you were watching the show live using trivia questions and live comments. The post show was called Talking Bad. Folowers of the show could use social media accounts to post questions or comments about the episode or questions to the special guests on the talking bad set to be answered live. AMC has done this with a couple of shows on the network and I think it comes from another network excelling at the post show social media campaigns on BravoTV. Social Media is quickly becoming a popular way for networks to keep viewers engaged by participating as well as an outlet to market additional items to viewers whether it be a T-shirt, poster or a box set of the show.
